By Muskan Khan

Baramulla’s young warrior, Danish Manzoor, has etched his name in history by winning a bronze medal for India at the 13th Elite Cup International Taekwondo Championship, held in Amman, Jordan from 21st to 24th August 2025.

The championship, hosted by the Jordan National Taekwondo Federation, is among the most prestigious sporting events in the Arab world, drawing top-ranked athletes and Olympic hopefuls from across the Middle East. Amid this fierce competition, Danish stood tall, carrying not only the tricolor on his chest but also the dreams of countless youngsters back home in Jammu and Kashmir.

Journey of Grit and Preparation

Before stepping into the ring, Danish immersed himself in an intensive international training camp (6th–20th August 2025) under the mentorship of Coach Ayman Alhusami, a national coach of the Jordan Olympic team. Supported by the J&K Taekwondo Association, Danish trained relentlessly, sharpening his skills and discipline to international standards.

His medal is not just a victory of strength but also of spirit, determination, and sacrifice.

Words from the Champion

An emotional Danish, after securing his first-ever international medal for India, said-

This medal is the result of the guidance of my coach, Master Atul Pangotra, and the immense support I have received from everyone who believed in me. I dedicate this achievement to my coach, my family, and my country.

His humility reflects the values of a true athlete — gratitude, resilience, and the burning desire to uplift others along with his success.

Support That Made It Possible

Behind Danish’s achievement lies the crucial role of the HELP Foundation, which fully sponsored both his training camp and participation in the championship. Their support turned his dream into reality, proving how the right backing can transform talent into triumph.

A Milestone for Kashmir’s Sporting Spirit

This victory is more than just a medal — it is a beacon of hope for Jammu and Kashmir’s aspiring athletes. For Baramulla, it is a moment of immense pride, placing the region firmly on the global sports map. Danish’s success highlights the sporting potential of Kashmir and sends a powerful message: dreams born in the valleys can shine on the world stage.

The President of the J&K Taekwondo Association hailed Danish’s performance, while Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of the J&K Sports Council, also extended heartfelt congratulations for bringing glory to both India and Jammu & Kashmir.
