PM Modi’s Heartwarming Conversation with Children Aboard Vande Bharat

By Muskan Khan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a special visit to Jammu & Kashmir. During this trip, he flagged off the Vande Bharat Express connecting Katra to Srinagar at the Katra railway station. But the highlight of the journey wasn’t just the train—it was PM Modi’s interaction with a group of schoolchildren on board.

A Joyful Train Ride: Questions, Laughter & Innocence

As the Vande Bharat train rolled out of the station, PM Modi sat down with enthusiastic schoolchildren for a heartfelt conversation. One curious girl asked, “Sir, I feel nervous while speaking—how can I overcome it?” The Prime Minister smiled and said, “You’re talking to me so easily—your hesitation is only in your mind!” To which the girl sweetly replied, “Not in front of you…” Everyone burst into laughter, and PM Modi joined in, joking, *”So you’re not afraid of me, then!”

PM Modi Turned Interviewer

During the ride, PM Modi asked the children a few questions of his own. “How many of you are traveling by train for the first time?” he asked. Several hands went up. He smiled and said, “Looks like it’s a first-time Vande Bharat ride for everyone!” The children also sang songs for the Prime Minister. One girl even sang a Kashmiri song, which touched him deeply.

“What Was Your Childhood Dream?” — A Child’s Innocent Question

A Kashmiri girl asked, “Sir, what was your goal when you were a child?” PM Modi answered with simplicity, “I had no specific goal. I just wanted to live for my country and serve it.”

The same girl continued, “When we study, we get sleepy. How do you manage to stay awake with so much work?” The Prime Minister replied, “Sleep is important, beta. Science says even with stress and work, one must sleep 6 to 7 hours daily. But that doesn’t mean you should sleep in class!”

A Lesson That Will Stay for Life

Another child asked him, “Sir, tell us something we can follow in our life.” PM Modi responded with a thoughtful analogy:

“When a cricketer is on the field, people shout for sixes and fours. But the player doesn’t listen to the noise—he focuses on what he has planned. Similarly, in life, don’t get distracted by what others say. Stay focused on your goal and give it your all.”

In this short journey, PM Modi didn’t just enjoy the company of children—he inspired them with laughter, wisdom, and life values. Perhaps, true leadership lies in speaking the language of innocence and guiding with compassion.
