By Muskan Khan

Ranchi, Jharkhand – In a remarkable testament to perseverance and unwavering determination, Rajesh Rajak, a young man who once navigated the streets as a delivery boy, has triumphed in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination 2023. Securing an impressive 271st rank among the 342 successful candidates, Rajesh is set to embark on a new chapter as a Deputy Superintendent in the Jharkhand Jail Service, ready to address the public’s concerns as an officer of the state.

Rajesh’s incredible journey, rooted in Kendua village under Barkattha block in Hazaribag district, is quickly becoming a beacon of hope for millions of aspiring youths across India. Despite facing significant financial hardship and a scarcity of resources, he defied the odds, balancing his studies with the demanding work of a delivery boy to achieve this monumental success. His achievement has not only filled his family with immense pride but has also brought immense honor to his entire block.

A Family’s Sacrifice and a Son’s Resolve

Tragedy struck Rajesh’s family in 2017 when his father passed away while Rajesh was still in 12th grade. The loss plunged the family into dire financial straits. To make ends meet, his elder brother moved to Mumbai to work as a laborer, while his mother, Jankidevi, took on the role of a cook at a local government school.

Rajesh, meanwhile, pursued his early education at the village’s government school before continuing his 12th grade and undergraduate studies in Hazaribag. Recognizing the family’s pressing needs, he made the difficult decision to take on a delivery boy job in Ranchi to support his education and contribute to the household income.

Conquering Challenges: The Path to JPSC

While working as a delivery boy, Rajesh simultaneously dedicated himself to competitive exam preparation, living in a lodge in Ranchi. When the advertisement for the 7th to 10th JPSC exams was released, he seized the opportunity. Although he cleared the preliminary examination on his first attempt, he narrowly missed out in the mains.

Undeterred by this setback, Rajesh continued to apply for various other competitive examinations in Jharkhand. Despite repeated failures and the constant struggle with financial constraints, his spirit and resolve never wavered. It is this unwavering determination that ultimately led to his name appearing on the final merit list of the JPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, securing him the 271st rank and a coveted position in the Jharkhand Jail Service.

Rajesh Rajak’s story is a powerful reminder that with resilience, hard work, and an unbreakable spirit, even the most challenging circumstances can be overcome to achieve one’s dreams. His journey from delivering packages to delivering justice is truly an inspiration.
